Armada has fleet of mobile options
Compaq's new Armada 6500 is a thin and lightweight notebook with a Pentium II 300 MHz processor. It features 6.4 gb hard disk, 64 MB Ram, a 24xCD-Rom drive, a 56,000 internal modem and 10/100 mbps Ethernet connection.
With a 14.1-inch TFT screen for 1,024x768 resolution, it weighs 2.57 kilograms and is 3.55 centimetres thick. The Windows 95 version costs $35,088 and the NT 4.0 version $35,988.
An optional expansion unit for DVD-Rom, Zip, SuperDisk LS-120 disk and second hard-disk drives is available at $3,828, and a convenience base for port replication and battery charging costs $2,688.
The Armada 7800 and Armada 7400 are two other notebooks offering advanced graphics performance with a dedicated 66 MHz graphics bus, 4 MB synchronous graphics Ram, and 1,024x768 resolution on a 14.1-inch TFT screen.
The 7800 series comes with a Pentium II 300 MHz processor, 8 gb hard drive and 64 MB of Ram. The price is $40,888 for a model with Windows 95 and $41,688 for one with Windows NT 4.0. The 7400 with 4 gb hard drive and Windows 95 is priced at $26,888.
