Lightweight packs punch

Taiwan computer maker MiTAC has launched its MiNote 5036, which runs on 233 MHz or 266 MHz Intel Pentium MMX processors.

It supports up to 96 MB Ram, a 4.1 gb hard drive, a 24x CD-Rom drive and a floppy drive, and comes with a built-in 56 kbps modem. It is 35 mm thick and weighs less than 2.6 kg.

The MiNote 6033 comes with a Pentium II 233/266 MHz processor. It has 32 MB Ram, expandable to 96 MB, a 4.1 gb hard disk, a 24x CD-Rom drive and a floppy drive.

Both offer the choices of a 12.1-inch or 13.3-inch TFT LCD, and run on Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0.
