Tennis office meeting point

I refer to the letter 'Courts appear overstaffed' (South China Morning Post, 7 October).

The Bowen Road Tennis Courts operate from 6am to 7pm between April and September and from 7am to 6pm between October and March. Because of the long hours, staff work in shifts - three in the morning and three in the afternoon. Duties include managing the tennis courts, and daily upkeep and maintenance of six other nearby leisure venues and amenity areas.

For convenience, the office block at Bowen Road Tennis Courts is the contact point. For this reason, three staff might be seen inside at one time.

We thank your reader for bringing the matter to our attention. However, the Urban Services Department has a well established mechanism to monitor staffing. Should the reader have any further inquiries, please contact our District Amenities Officer (Wan Chai), Mr H K Yuen on 2879-5613.
