Glorious Gloria has eyes for script only

WERE my eyes deceiving me? Tuning in to Gloria Wu on TVB's Maxwell Music Motion, I sat back as the radiant presenter introduced a video by Celine Dion (she of Beauty and the Beast fame).

But what followed was Eurythmics moll Annie Lennox - yes, one-time live-in of Chingford Man, Dave Stewart.

Gloria was back on air after the video telling me (and possibly others, too) that was, indeed, Ms Dion I had just watched (and to hell with the evidence of my eyes).

If only TV presenters could be trained to occasionally, just occasionally, take their eyes off the prepared script and look at the monitor.

It would make life so much easier back in our living rooms, eh?
