Electrical & Mechanical Services Department 50th Anniversary
In 1996, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department began to provide key services under a trading fund accounting system, with the aim to maximise efficiency via a more customer- focused service culture.
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Trading Fund has been operational for two years and the results are extremely encouraging as evidenced by productivity gains and positive customer feedback.
I wish to congratulate EMSD not only on the auspicious occasion of its 50th anniversary, but on the steady progress of its trading fund operations.
As a result of the trading fund, I believe the department is set to become even more successful and competitive in the years to come.
I wish to congratulate EMSD staff in the trading fund services for their hard work in managing the challenging transition to the fund, and to those in the department's regulatory services for their efforts in making Hong Kong a safer place in which to live. I wish the department another 50 years of success.
