Unhelpful

I used to be quite impressed by the bus service provided by Citybus. But that changed shortly after I moved to South Horizons.

There are two major problems that Citybus has to deal with: If it did proper research on supply and demand, it would know that the No 592 bus, which runs between Causeway Bay and South Horizons, needs to be much more frequent during rush hours, especially from 5pm to 8pm, when the queues are long and the buses are full. Citybus has, in the past, blamed the Transport Department for not allowing it to put more buses on this route, but perhaps it could explain why it is that buses No 72 or 92, for example, which also go through the Aberdeen tunnel and along Wong Chuk Hang Road, are so much more frequent.

I rang the Citybus hotline on October 12, so that I could make my suggestions for ways to improve its service. Unfortunately, members of staff were extremely unhelpful. In times like these when there are thousands of qualified people looking for jobs, surely Citybus could find people who are more courteous, to take on the very important job of communicating with the public.
