Governor to meet Major

GOVERNOR Mr Chris Patten ends his two-week visit to Britain today in meetings with the Foreign Secretary Mr Douglas Hurd and Prime Minister Mr John Major at which strategy for next week's talks with China will be agreed.

Mr Patten yesterday met the Minister with special responsibility for Hongkong, Mr Alastair Goodlad, Beijing ambassador Sir Robin McLaren and the Defence Secretary, Mr Malcolm Rifkind.
