The Museum Annex in Exchange Square is holding an exhibition, from Friday until November 17, of earthy jewellery produced by 75-year-old designer Daisy Wong.
The collection, carried at prestige US store Saks Fifth Avenue after a store buyer spotted Wong wearing one of her own necklaces and subsequently ordered the whole lot, is not made of gold or precious stones.
Instead, Wong uses shards of rock crystals, Czech silver pebbles and Chinese jade. Prices range from $1,500 to $8,000.
Watch art The first social event at the state-of-the-art The Center building in Central took place yesterday. Against a stunning city backdrop, luxury pen-makers Montblanc launched their Meisterstuck watch collection. The line is made predominantly of steel.
In the pink Pinks and corals are destined to be the big scene-stealers next season.
Judging by the catwalks and the showrooms in European and American fashion capitals, hot fuschia, baby pink and varying shades of orange coral will enliven otherwise neutral palettes.
Best among New York collections were Cynthia Rowley (pink flowers on white, below) and Oscar de la Renta's luscious coral evening-wear. Make-up houses are predicted to be launching similar shades for next spring.
