Old play gets new rhythm

Form Six students from Island School will stage a modern version of Shakespeare's classic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, later this month.

The classic play will be performed to a modern soundtrack by famous artists and groups such as M People, George Benson, the Stylistics, Imagination, Hot Chocolate, the Bee Gees, Village People, Cyndi Lauper and KC and the Sunshine Band.

The play is about a group of 'giddy young things' - chic socialites whose only concern is who's doing what with whom, and what to wear at the next party. Hence the setting - Messina Place in Hong Kong - where the students hang out.

The play will be staged at the school from next Wednesday to Friday at 7.30 pm. Tickets at $50 are available from the school. For information, call 2524-7135.
