The Peter Ho-trained Chief's Fortune (21-1) will be adding to his master's tally before long after a sizzling finishing effort in the Class Four fifth event won by the well-fancied Top Class.

The three-year-old International Sale graduate was ridden by Eric Saint-Martin but the Frenchman was unable to get him going in the early stages and he was a yawning four-lengths last and very wide when the field turned for home.

He was taken even wider into the straight and was noted making good ground when the race was all over.

In the wash-up, he finished just over five lengths from the winner and after five starts, four of them this term, he looks set to do something for Ho.

Given more cover, Chief's Fortune would have run much closer over this 1,400 metres, but being by Alzao, he should appreciate a mile or further in time.

Earlier, David Oughton's Sky's The Limit (12-1) flew from the pack to fill the frame behind the promising Fortune Dancer.

This three-year-old is another International Sale purchase from last year and he will be a handy performer when he learns more about the game.
