Game offers $1m play money

AT&T, Boom.com and Sing Tao Daily have teamed up to launch an on-line investment game aimed at acquainting investors with on-line stock-trading.

The contest, to be called the Cyber Stock Challenge, is composed of three month-long games, starting today.

First prize for each game is two round-trip tickets between Hong Kong and Tokyo with Northwest Airlines plus a watch, worth a total of $34,500.

Other prizes include a weekend at a Hong Kong hotel, air tickets to Manila and Web design training courses.

The game, which is available at www. boom.com/game, is meant to teach people that trading on-line is easy, quick and safe. Contestants, who must be 18 years old or above, each start with $1 million in 'virtual' money.

AT&T provides the Net connection and Boom.com the on-line trading software. Leading investors in the game will be listed each week in Sing Tao Daily.
