Ticket freedom at Coliseum

THE Hongkong Coliseum is operated on a self-sufficient basis, hence, its management has to adopt a commercial approach when hiring out its facilities to programme organisers. Since organisers have huge financial commitments in organising events, the Coliseum management must allow them a certain degree of freedom in marketing their events. Selling tickets by consignment is one approach.

For major popular events, hirers are allowed to consign a portion of tickets for internal sale to satisfy their sponsors and business associates. However, in order not to lose sight of the public, the Coliseum management must ensure that some of the bestseats are available for counter sale as well.

Tickets are sold through URBTIX on a ''first-come-first-served'' basis. It is our policy to allow customers a free choice of seats depending on the availability. At the same time, all ticket sellers have been instructed to show the relevant seating plans to customers upon request.
