A suspected 14K triad official in Macau was shot dead and his companion injured by a gunman last night.

The gunman fired four shots at them at an aquarium in the Inner Harbour District.

Lee Bing-shing, 42, was hit in the head and died before arriving at hospital. Lee was a partner of the Phoenix Hall in the Lisboa Casino.

His companion, a car repair shop owner, was shot in the left arm. He was admitted to the Government Hospital in fair condition.

Police said they were not ruling out the possibility the killing was triad-related.

Lee had driven to the Tung Hoi Aquarium in Travessa do Gamboa. As he and his friend walked into the shop they were followed by a man who fired at them before escaping on a motorcycle.

Police cordoned off the area and found an abandoned motorcycle in a side street.

Earlier yesterday, Ng Por, 25, was shot in the arm when a gunman accompanied by two men fired three shots at him as he played mahjong at a shop in the same district. The three fled on motorcycles.
