ISPtel, a global Internet telecommunications company, will launch an international voice and fax network using the Internet instead of normal telephone lines. Deployment will begin with Internet service provider partners in 10 countries, including HKNet in Hong Kong. The technology used is based on Ascend Communications' MultiVoice, a solution allowing voice and fax support using Internet Protocol.
