Hong Kong athletes claim 29 golds for sixth place overall

BANGKOK: Hong Kong finished sixth overall in the medal table at the close of the FESPIC Games with 29 golds, 31 silvers and 17 bronze medals.


Hong Kong were most successful in the men's fencing competition where gold medals were won in the three weapons - foil, epee and sabre.


China easily led the medal table with 206 gold medals. China also won 89 silvers and 47 bronzes.


Hosts Thailand were second overall with 70 golds, 75 silvers and 85 bronzes, followed by Australia, Korea and Japan. Thirty-four countries took part in the Games.
