Dynamic dance group presents two shows

THE South Asli Dance Workshop is a group of young dancers from Malaysia now working in Hongkong as professional performers.

Like their forefathers, Chinese who settled in Malaysia at the turn of the century, these dancers are experiencing life in a foreign environment and reflecting the experience in their art.

When the group first performed here in 1991, audiences were impressed by their works' energy and emotional complexity. Since then, the group has attracted much attention in various dance competitions and festivals.

The South Asli Dance Workshop will present two new programmes today and tomorrow, and on April 30 and May 1, at 8 pm in Studio 1 of the Academy for Performing Arts.

Titled South Asli Dance Workshop - Series 1 and 2, the programmes will showcase the group's dance techniques. Free tickets will be distributed at the APA box office half an hour before the performance starts. For enquiries, call 322-9616.
