Canada's top university is offering scholarships to Hong Kong students.

The University of Toronto (U of T) is providing six full undergraduate scholarships that will enable suitable candidates to study in Toronto, Canada's most multinational city.

The scholarships are for the academic year beginning this September.

The U of T (Hong Kong) Foundation is offering two full undergraduate scholarships.

Businessman Cheng Yu-tung will provide four additional scholarships.

The six scholarships are renewable for four years based on satisfactory performance and can be used in any discipline (arts, science, commerce, engineering, music or physical and health education).

Selection is based on academic excellence, student merit and financial need.

The deadline for applications is March 1.

The U of T (Hong Kong) Foundation solicits donations for scholarships to help students from Hong Kong with financial need to attend the university.
