Mock wedding raises $500,000

A mock wedding banquet was held at the Jumbo floating restaurant in Aberdeen, where TV stars and socialites gathered to feast on a 10-course Chinese dinner for Aids Concern.

Heart-throb actor Lawrence Ng played the role of the groom while socialite Sonia Ming donned a wedding gown and played the bride.

Others who took part in the make-believe wedding were Stanley Ho, Lydia Shum, Lee Hong-kum, Danny Lau and Michael Tong.

Italian jeweller Maria Gaspari was the title sponsor of the event which started during the day with a bridal reception. More than $500,000 was raised for Aids Concern.
