Former Asian strategist Alan Butler-Henderson has died.

Butler-Henderson, best known for his Tiger Talk market commentary, left ING Barings in 1997 to become an independent consultant.

A spokesman for ING Barings said yesterday that all those who had worked with Butler-Henderson were deeply saddened by his death.

'Our condolences go out to his family,' the spokesman said.

Butler-Henderson was ING Barings chief Asian strategist from December 1993 until December 1997.

He left ING Barings to live in Cyprus.

Prior to joining ING, he worked at W.I. Carr Securities.
