Post photographers in focus at awards

SOUTH China Morning Post photographers clicked with the judges at a top press awards ceremony.

Dickson Lee's picture of textile fibres coating the exterior of Kwun Tong's Mai Kar Building (top) won the features section of the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association Photographic Competition 1998.

Martin Chan was first and second runner-up in the sports section with, respectively, a motorcyclist crashing during the Macau Grand Prix (below centre) and officials timing a school athletics event (below right).

Robert Ng was first runner-up in the general news category with his photograph of Stanley Beach strewn with litter and morning-after sky-gazers following November's Leonid meteor shower (below left).
