Planning decisions disconnect people from nature

As a resident of Pokfulam, overlooking the Lamma Channel, I noticed that in recent months several barges have been piling off the Sandy Bay foreshore. With horror we discovered that a new expressway is to be constructed on the waterfront. What on Earth is driving these ludicrous decisions? Any other city with common sense and foresight would look to preserve and enhance their waterfront real estate for the good of its inhabitants.

Here, however, we are constantly being driven away and severed from the natural beauty that surrounds us. And for what? Cold concrete monstrosities which only add to the environmental cesspool.

Why are we, the public, not consulted on these key environmental decisions? We need to overhaul the ridiculous system that allows these and many other catastrophic planning decisions to forever ruin this once-great place we called home.
