Trainer Mok King-keung cuddles two-week-old German shepherd pups at the Police Dog Unit in Fanling as an appeal was made to animal lovers willing to look after one.

Chief Inspector Charles Kong Cheuk-chau said the police were looking for people who could provide a good home and time to play with and start training a puppy.

The Puppy Walk Programme started 20 years ago to allow puppies to grow up with families before going into service.

Families care for a dog from the age of about 14 weeks to one year with food and equipment provided by the police.

Anyone interested in joining the programme should contact the unit on 2659 0482 or 2659 0494.
