Exhibition highlights heart disease

Do you know how healthy your heart is? Have you ever thought how bad habits developed early in life, such as poor diet and lack of exercise, can put your heart at risk? A promotional campaign, co- organised by a group of students at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Health Promotion Department of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, will be held tomorrow and Thursday and on March 24.

The campaign - A Change of Heart - aims to enhance people's awareness of the increase in fatal heart disease and encourage people to protect their hearts by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Organisers said it was important to educate people at an early age about the danger of heart disease and how to reduce the risk of heart disease by changing their lifestyle.

In order to achieve these aims, a coronary risk assessment, an exhibition and a heart disease prevention seminar will be held at CityU on March 10, 11 and 24 respectively.

An exhibition will be held tomorrow and Thursday at CityU introducing what heart disease is, the main symptoms and causes of heart disease and preventive measures.

On March 24, the heart disease prevention seminar will serve as a follow-up for participants who do the assessment tomorrow and as a guide for heart disease prevention.
