Leighton Asia has won a $910 million contract to construct a major housing development at Tin Shui Wai for the Housing Authority.

This follows the awarding last week to the firm of a $1.14 billion rail construction contract at Tseung Kwan O in a joint venture with China State Construction Engineering.

The Tin Shui Wai project includes 1,280 units in four, 41-storey residential towers and two seven-storey schools.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in April 2001.

Managing director John Faulkner said the company had won three major contracts in Hong Kong since January, which had taken its current work in hand in Asia to $4 billion.
