Lufthansa Cargo and Singapore Airlines have agreed to open a number of destinations in their route network for transport of each other's express products from April.

The agreement will expand the 'td.flash' express service operated by Lufthansa to 16 stations in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Singapore Airlines will, in turn, extend to Lufthansa its 'Swiftrider' express product to 16 destinations in Europe.

Depending on market acceptance, both carriers plan to expand their express services to further flights.

New destinations for Singapore Airlines are Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney in Australia; Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand; Dhaka in Bangladesh; Denpasar and Surabaya in Indonesia; Fukuoka in Japan; Hanoi in Vietnam; Kaoshiung and Taipei in Taiwan; and Brunei.

The 'td.flash' shipments will be transported on Lufthansa Cargo flights to Singapore and then transferred to Singapore Airlines' flights to reach their destinations.

'Swiftrider' express shipments will be flown by Singapore Airlines to Frankfurt and transferred to Lufthansa for their onward journey.

The 16 destinations in Europe are Basel in Switzerland; Barcelona in Spain; Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart in Germany; Gothenburg and Stockholm in Sweden; Oslo in Norway; Helsinki in Finland; Lyon in France; Milan in Italy; Glasgow in Scotland; plus Tel Aviv in Israel.
