Revise lunchtime arrangements

THE Urban Services Department is presumably planning its annual maintenance activities for Morrison Hill swimming pool. Lunchtime swimming there is now very popular so could we request that the following be taken into consideration: Not closing the whole pool complex for two months as usually happens in May/June. Lunchtime swimmers working nearby do not have time to go to other pools, so please keep at least one of the three pools open throughout and/or close the complex for a muchshorter period.

The training pool is already closed for repairs.

Change the lunchtime closing period (or scrap it altogether) so that the pool is open from noon or 12.30pm to fit in with users' lunchtimes. This would also ease the present 1 pm congestion. Banks and shops manage to accommodate staff lunchtime without total closure.

Introduce a magnetic payment card system. At present we have to feed into the machines $14 in coins (no notes) each time. This, together with buses which also require coins, and the unwillingness of banks now to provide bags of coins, an MTR type turnstile is sorely needed - maybe the machinery could be adapted to take MTR/KCR/KMB magnetic cards.
