A 27-YEAR-OLD man who stored more than 3.2 kilograms of heroin in his home for a friend was yesterday sentenced to 17 years' jail.

Acting Senior Crown Counsel Ms Jenny Betts told the court that police went to search Ng Man-fai's house in Po Lo Che New Village, Sai Kung, in April last year and found eight blocks and one bag of drugs.

They also found a pressing machine, a mould, paracetamol and caffeine.

The High Court heard that Ng had five previous convictions, including a prison sentence in France for drug offences.

In mitigation, Ms Sze Kin said Ng's problem stemmed from a financial problem after borrowing money in a joint venture that collapsed.

Mr Justice Keith said the paraphernalia found suggested that Ng's role was more than he admitted.
