A MEMBER of the South China Athletic Association who claims he was injured while filling in a membership form is suing the organisation for damages.

Computer firm manager Wong Yick-yuen's writ says he was filling in a renewal form on a glass table when it broke and injured him. The writ says the association caused or permitted the table 'to be or to become or to remain a danger'.

The accident on April 27, 1996, was said to have been caused by negligence on the part of the association.

Mr Wong, who says his cut right hand required surgery and several months of treatment, is seeking unspecified damages plus costs.
