Cricket plea

I understand from letters that have already appeared in these columns, that we are going to be deprived of live TV coverage of the cricket World Cup.

There are a large number of cricket fans in Hong Kong who would be very upset if they were denied the chance to see live coverage of the World Cup.

I read a report in the South China Morning Post a few months ago, in which International Cricket Council officials said that they were eager to see the game develop in this region.

Therefore, I am sure they would be disappointed to learn that this competition will not be seen live by viewers in Hong Kong.

I appeal to ESPN/Star, do not let down the large number of fans of cricket in Hong Kong. ESPN contends that it is a world-leader in sports broadcasting. Let it prove that is the case by showing the World Cup live.
