Hutchison Whampoa, one of Hong Kong’s largest listed companies, is controlled by  Cheung Kong Group, a property company. Hutchison's operations span ports, property and hotels, retailing, power generation and telecommunications. It owns Cheung Kong Infrastructure, and  is headed by Li Ka-shing, Asia’s wealthiest man.

MONDAY, MAY 3 Financial Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen starts visit to Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, until Friday. Final results from China Merchants Holdings (International). Kerry Properties holds its annual general meeting. In the United States, News Corp and Seagram announce their final results, and the Government releases March personal spending and income data.

TUESDAY, MAY 4 Government announces February price and volume of external trade. Fortuna International Holdings, Lerado Group (Holdings) and Magnum International Holdings report final results.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 5 Final results from Hing Kong Holdings and Techtronic Industries; Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings), Arnhold Holdings and Harmony Asset hold their annual general meetings. United States releases April unemployment rate.

THURSDAY, MAY 6 Stone Electronic Technology, reports finals (postponed from March 18). Annual general meetings held by Automated Systems Holdings, Cross-Harbour Tunnel, Hopson Development Holdings, Midas Printing Group and Zhejiang Expressway.

FRIDAY, MAY 7 Hong Kong Monetary Authority announces April foreign exchange assets. Finals from Hongkong Telecom, Kong Sun Holdings and Nanyang Holdings.
