Hong Kong photographer Claude Ho Lok-tin has just published a photo-travelogue of Polish life.

Entitled A Glimpse of Poland, it is believed to be a first for a local lensman. Among the images he captured is a gypsy girl, above, busking on the roadside in Warsaw. Although the adventure took him to familiar tourist spots, including Warsaw, Poznan, Cracow and the picture-postcard city of Torun, he focused more on the Polish people. His chronicles were supported by the Polish Consul- General Agnieszka Lobacz as part of what she hopes will become an ongoing cultural exchange.

The initiative has already led to two local musicians going to study the music of Chopin in Poland. Later this year, Mrs Lobacz hopes to bring an exhibition of Polish posters to the SAR.
