Hollywood media guru Harvey Weinstein was stopped by police at London's Heathrow airport after stepping off a Concorde flight from New York and questioned about lighting up a cigar during the journey.
'He was smoking a cigar and refused to stop,' newspapers quoted a British Airways spokesman as saying of the Miramax Films co-chairman.
'Apparently, he does it all the time. The captain was called in following passenger complaints.' British Airways spokeswoman Beverley Coates on Sunday confirmed the incident, which happened in December.
After failing to persuade Weinstein to extinguish his Havana, flight attendants radioed ahead for police to meet the plane, the Sunday Times said.
Police questioned him and a summons was sent to Miramax's London office ordering him to appear in court on charges of lighting up his cigar on the aircraft.
The newspaper said Weinstein did not show up at his hearing 10 days ago, adding that a court officer had said it was possible he had not received the summons.
