Legislators are to be asked to endorse funding of nearly $234 million for the study and trial of satellite-based communications, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management systems.

In a submission to lawmakers yesterday, the Economic Services Bureau said the study was needed to modernise air traffic control facilities and comply with the Global Implementation Plan drawn up by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
