Robber shot

Police shot dead a robber following a raid on the Cartier jewellery store in the Regent Hotel shopping arcade, Tsim Sha Tsui. Lam Ngai-chun, 32, who also fired several shots, was said to have been hit at least twice in the neck and body. A policeman was injured in a scuffle. Jewellery and watches worth $5.5 million were recovered near a stolen car with false licence plates.
