Use funds on air-side trolleys

On page three of the Business Post on May 14, there was is an item reporting that the Airport Authority has just arranged a $4 billion dual-tranche syndicated loan facility for general funding needs.

Following recent letters from myself and others in these columns regarding the absence of air-side airport trolleys, and the renovations which would be necessary in erecting guard rails to protect glass frontages in the event trolleys were provided, I could not help but wonder what falls under the banner of 'general funding needs'.

Could we not take a portion of the $4 billion and use it to make the airport a better place to travel through, as previously discussed? Would the Airport Authority please be kind enough to comment? KERENE R. BEGG Central
