Good times ahead for Kan
This year's International Sales graduates have been performing with a great deal of promise in their limited careers to date.
And it was the turn of another of the Class of '98 to make an impression yesterday as Good Fit (34-1) ran a top race on debut in the eighth event on the Sha Tin card.
The three-year-old son of Salse had received favourable reports in his two barrier trials before making it to the racetrack, but a minor setback in February had seen him miss a couple of months trackwork. As such it was surprising to see trainer Brian Kan send him out over the 1,600-metre trip first-up.
However, with a little more luck in running, the gelding would have been right in the contest.
David Harrison was able to get him into a good spot, but received a check about 600 metres from home which put him off badly balance for a few strides.
He was starting to motor when checked again about 300 metres out and it was a reassuring sign from a future betting point to see him pick up and finish sixth, some four lengths from the promising Oriental Treasure.TLP
