Telecom ringing up undue interests on deposits

I would like to warn people who want to retrieve their deposits from Hongkong Telecom.

I closed my account with 1010 on May 18 and was told it would take a couple of weeks for the deposit to be refunded.

After two weeks, with no response, I went to their office in Granville Road where I was informed it was now going to take five to six weeks from the date of cancellation. I told them that this was unacceptable and that I wanted my refund that week.

After four days, I received a call from their office saying it would now take three months to refund me, their reason being that they have to protect their interests. I have since received a credit note showing that I have paid all my bills, so they have no reason to withhold my deposits to protect their 'interests'. Albeit only a small sum, it is my interest on my money that I am losing.
