Silicon Valley mayor Henry Chang Manayan plans to give some pointers to Tung Chee-hwa on how to turn Hong Kong into a high-technology hub when the SAR's chief executive comes to pay a visit.

Mr Chang, the mayor of Milpitas City in Silicon Valley - the Californian cradle of the United States' technological revolution - is scheduled to meet Mr Tung towards the end of this month.

He said he would tell Mr Tung about two key factors in Silicon Valley's success.

'Firstly, the government has to work closely with the private sector; secondly, the government must make sure the infrastructure is well in place,' Mr Chang said.
