Vietnamese love their children

I am surprised by the way my discussion with Huw Watkin was reported in your story headlined, 'Province a haven for thriving baby scam' (South China Morning Post, July 6).

Mr Watkin's report makes it sound like I said that many Vietnamese families are having children in order to sell them, which is not true.

The years I have spent in Vietnam have shown me that the vast majority of Vietnamese people love their children and care for them and always do their best for their children despite poverty and other difficulties.

I personally have never seen any family having a child in order to sell him/her.
