McDonald's is the world's largest fast food restaurant chain, serving an estimated 68 million customers daily in 119 countries. It was founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald, who pioneered the idea of operating a hamburger business using production line principles.
Take the cyber football quiz challenge
Young football fans can now take part in the McDonald's Cyber Football Challenge, a trivia quiz on football.
The challenge accompanies the promotion of the McDonald's Star Programme - Youth Football Scheme '99 in Hong Kong.
The football challenge can be accessed from the company's Web site at www.mcdonalds.com.hk. Each game is three minutes long. Contestants can practise their cyber 'goal-scoring' skills, and acquire knowledge on football, league results, and rules and regulations by attempting the quiz. Towards the end of each game, contestants can submit their final scores with personal details to compete for places on the Hall of Fame listing.
Special souvenirs will be awarded to the top 10 achievers on the list on a biweekly basis.
McDonald's Cyber Football Challenge will run until September 26 and is divided into four sessions for the Hall of Fame awards (one session every two weeks). For details, visit the Web site at www.mcdonalds.com.hk.
