Campaign to bridge the gap

Parents and their children are encouraged to develop a better understanding of each other. An open and positive attitude in communication will go a long way towards solving children's problems and keeping them from going astray.

This is the main message in a new round of government publicity against youth crime to be launched this month.

A spokesman for the Fight Crime Committee said this year's campaign would focus on parent-child relationship.

'Parents are urged to provide more support and guidance for their children, especially when they have emotional problems. And children, on the other hand, should put themselves in their parents' shoes and try to understand the feelings of their parents,' the spokesman said.
