I share the concerns raised recently by numerous articles in this newspaper regarding genetically modified (GM) foods.

Some weeks ago I wrote to Vitasoy, asking about its use of GM products. I never received a reply.

Therefore, I think it appropriate that Vitasoy replies to the following questions via these columns.

Does Vitasoy use any GM ingredients in any of its products sold in Hong Kong? Given the level of public concern on this issue, why has the company not made any statement on this subject? In Australia, it is reported the company claims no GM ingredients are in its products. Why does it not do the same for its products sold in Hong Kong? I'm sure the readers of this newspaper look forward to replies to these questions.
