Frightening lack of decision

I am utterly appalled at the response of the Civil Aviation department in the wake of the China Airlines crash at Chek Lap Kok.

Regardless of the outcome of the crash investigation, I find it frightening that it believes it is not responsible for closing the airport during bad weather, using the feeble excuse that it is 'in line with international standards'.

Closing airports in inclement weather is also 'in line with international standards' and it is standard practice for air traffic control to make this decision at many airports around the world.
