Exam cuts may aid pupils

FEWER examinations could sharpen students' competitiveness, according to the Education Commission.

Commission member Professor Cheng Kai-ming said yesterday planned 'student-focused' reform was needed to teach pupils to motivate themselves.

He said that the reforms should help the students in terms of personal development.

The commission released proposals on Wednesday for public consultation to reform academic structure and curriculums.
