Crying out for more from Whitney

JUDGING by the crowd's response to Whitney Houston's duet with husband Bobby Brown at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium last week, Hongkong is crying out for a full-fledged visit by the star.

But whether or not the territory is included in Houston's world itinerary depends on a number of factors, not least of which is good public relations.

Her last shows here, three sell-out performances in 1988, were marred by embarrassing scenes when the camera-shy star walked off stage at the Coliseum over repeated flash photography and even forced the culprits to hand over their film. The crowd booed.

In the wake of that, last week's concert was a ''bit of a PR exercise'', admitted a local promoter who added that no dates had yet been booked for Hongkong.

But if the exercise has been deemed a success, don't be surprised to see Houston on stage here in September.
