I believe television has a good influence on society and individuals.

First, television is a good source of entertainment. When people get home after work, the first thing they do is switch on the television. After work, people need to relax and television programmes can entertain and help them wind down.

Second, television programmes can educate. Television stations broadcast a lot of programmes which teach people different skills, such as drawing, geography, keep fit and calligraphy. People can learn better at home because they may feel shy about learning with others and worry about whether their work is good or not.

Also, children are easily influenced, so there are a lot of cartoons which teach them to be honest. Therefore, people can be educated through television.

Lastly, television programmes can increase communication between people and help co-operation in society.

Sometimes when people meet they do not have a subject to talk about, but because of television they can talk about the programmes they have seen and express their own opinions and learn to listen to others.

As people communicate, they build up friendships, and friendship between people helps to make the world a peaceful place.

Therefore, I believe television has a good influence on society and individuals.

Television programmes provide entertainment and education and increase communication between people.
