Bone Marrow donor

I refer to the report headlined, 'Bone marrow push planned' (Sunday Morning Post, November 14).

Dr Brian Hawkins, Vice-President of the Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation, is hoping to increase the number of Eurasian donors on the foundation's register, but as he said, many Eurasians, once they reach 18, leave Hong Kong to study overseas.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile for the foundation to organise another campaign to cover the Christmas and New Year season as some of these students will be returning to Hong Kong for that period.

These new potential donors might, unfortunately, be too late to help the Chan twins, but having them on the donor list could possibly save other lives in the future.
