FOK IN TRAINING FOR OLYMPIC TOP SPOT

TIMOTHY FOK'S appearance at the Olympic Council of Asia meeting in Kuwait tomorrow will be his first step towards a place on the International Olympic Committee.

Mr Fok has put his name forward to become a council vice-president and is expected to be elected unopposed.

Hong Kong's bid for the 2006 Games will further enhance his credentials.

The fiasco over alleged malpractices in the awarding of the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics has left vacancies on the committee. These positions are due to be filled in March.
