16-date ban for jockey
English jockey Alan Munro was banned for 16 meetings yesterday over his controversial riding of Silent Partner at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Stewards barred Munro from racing until February 2 after finding him guilty of 'not taking all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure' his mount had a chance to place in the 1,600-metre Chevalier iTech Holdings Handicap.
A shocked Munro, 32, said an appeal was unlikely as he had presented the strongest case he could. 'I don't know what I'll do for the next two months,' he said.
