Fund-raising a real scream

Ghoulish guests made a monster success of Igor's second charity night to raise money for Operation Santa Claus.

The Sheung Wan restaurant opened specially on a Monday night to offer an international buffet with a twist - a four-part show and a live band.

Ninety guests signed up for the evening, with companies using the opportunity to hold their Christmas parties on the night, Igor's marketing manager, Jeanette Wong, said.

Guests paid $500, which went straight to Operation Santa Claus' coffers and staff worked for free. A total of $100,000 was raised.

Igor's served its trademark 'macabre' food. The highlight was slabs of turkey and ham which appeared to be carved from the stomachs of 'cadavers'.
